Hello ~ Sawatdee ka ~ Hola ~ Buon giorno

There is nothing like sharing food around the family table – that is what feels like home to me. I’m happy to take extra time working in the kitchen – call it kitchen yoga! I’m no specialist, but I love making my family and friends feel special.

I hope you let me know if there are any recipes or cooking questions you have and I will try to help out.  Lots of recipes reflect our travels, as I love to get to know a country through their food. This blog started when the requests for my own cookbook just got to be more than I could handle – so I thought – why not an ever growing cookbook?

Here it is.   I love to cook and I hope you will enjoy cooking with me.

Auntie Elsie 93 years old

I learned so much from this amazing lady, our Auntie Elsie.  She taught me that fresh is best, and homemade is the way to go, always!!

Lots of my inspiration comes from travel, here we are sitting on top of the world, well, this Mexican world!  I can hear the monkeys chattering even as I look at the photo!

I have been cooking for years – first as the oldest of 5 in a busy family, then as mom for a whole bunch of busy kids, (5 girls!), taking a brief stint to own a Spanish Tapas Bar, and returning to cooking the way I like it the best – for family and friends.  Now that I have my grand daughters Sloan, Stella and Liv to help in the kitchen it’s even more fun.

  1. I love food! As much as I have always loved cooking for family and friends, it seems like it is becoming a passion for me as well …. everywhere we go in the world I take cooking classes, then come home to practice – which is where the fun begins.

Hopefully you will enjoy my recipes, thoughts on food and photos of our travels as well!

  2. Hey Kathy – if I recall you make a fantastic payaya and I would also love the recipe for your tapas potatoes and the chicken in cream with chipotle peppers, not sure of the names of the two dishes but I think of them often and would love the recipes!!!!
